Ryan Salame Claims Political Targeting Over GOP Donations

Ryan Salame, former FTX co-CEO, asserted on Tucker Carlson’s show that the U.S. government unfairly targeted him for his Republican donations. Salame, who donated $20–$30 million to GOP candidates, believes his charges of campaign finance violations are biased. He contrasted his situation with Sam Bankman-Fried, claiming that Bankman-Fried’s Democratic donations didn’t receive similar scrutiny. Salame, yet to face charges related to FTX’s collapse, seeks a two-month delay for medical reasons before surrendering.

Crypto exchange Bitnomial has sued the SEC, claiming the agency overstepped its authority by labeling XRP as a security. Bitnomial argues that XRP is regulated as a commodity under the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and should not fall under SEC jurisdiction. The lawsuit seeks a ruling that XRP futures are not securities and an injunction to stop the SEC from enforcing jurisdiction over such products.
